Terms of Service
These terms are between you and Outside Studio ("we", "us") and cover the WaitAIMinute app for Android and iOS and this website (the "Service"). By installing or using the Service you agree to them. If you do not agree, do not use the Service. Effective 2026-10-13.
1. What the Service is
WaitAIMinute lets you choose apps you want to use less, set a daily time limit, and covers those apps once the limit is spent. You can grant yourself extra time through the app's unlock screen; when that window ends, the app is covered again.
The Service is not a parental-control product, a device-management product or a security product. It runs on your own device, for you.
2. Licence
We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the Service on devices you own or control, for your own non-commercial use, subject to these terms and to the rules of the app store you installed it from (Google Play or the Apple App Store). You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell or reverse-engineer the Service, or attempt to extract its source code, except as permitted by law, or use it to build a competing product.
3. Your device, your permissions, your responsibility
- The Service needs Accessibility, Usage Access and Display over other apps permissions on Android, and Screen Time authorization on iOS. You grant these yourself in your device settings.
- You are responsible for what you do with those permissions, and for the other apps and accounts on your device.
- Enforcement is best effort. Mobile operating systems delay, defer or stop background work; a manufacturer's battery optimisation can stop the app entirely; a reboot, a force-stop, an OS update or a revoked permission can interrupt it. The app is designed to recover, but we cannot promise that a given app will be blocked at a given moment. Do not rely on the Service where a failure would cause harm — for example, do not use it as the only control protecting a child, and do not treat it as a medical, safety or security device.
4. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- use the Service to break any law, or to interfere with a device you do not own or control;
- use the Accessibility Service or any other part of the Service to automate, monitor or manipulate another person's device without their knowledge and consent;
- attempt to bypass, disable or reverse the Service's own enforcement, except by using the controls the app provides (turning enforcement off, or resetting the device);
- resell, sublicense or commercially exploit the Service.
We may suspend or terminate access to the Service if you breach these terms.
5. No fees
The Service is currently free. If a paid feature is added, it will be offered through the app store's billing system with its own terms, and these terms will be updated.
6. Not medical or professional advice
The Service is a tool for changing a habit. It is not medical, psychological or professional advice, and it is not a treatment for any condition. If you need help with your relationship to your device or to any app, speak to a qualified professional.
7. Privacy
Our Privacy Policy describes what the Service does with information. In short: your app selection, usage, limits and activity log stay on your device; crash reports and an update identifier are the only things that leave it.
8. Availability and changes
We may change, suspend or discontinue the Service, or any part of it, at any time. We may update the app through the app stores or (where the platform allows) over the air. Updates may change features; we aim to describe material changes in the release notes. If a change is unacceptable to you, stop using the Service and uninstall it.
9. Disclaimer of warranties
The Service is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that it will block any particular app at any particular time. Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of certain warranties, so some of the above may not apply to you.
10. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, profits or goodwill, arising out of or relating to your use of the Service. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service is limited to the greater of (a) the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim, or (b) $50. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
11. Termination
You may stop using the Service at any time by uninstalling it. We may terminate these terms if you breach them. On termination the licence in section 2 ends; sections 9, 10 and 12 survive.
12. Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of Nepal, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. The courts of that jurisdiction have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising from these terms, except where consumer law gives you the right to bring proceedings in your own country of residence.
